Standard-00266: Kiri
Tricolor heron inspiration! Kiri's head is covered in light feathering, which fades where her head and neck connect into thick smooth-scaled skin, which covers the rest of her body (tail included). When submerged, the difference is difficult to discern due to her feathers (crest included) being hydrophobic. At a glance, due to her patterns not being broken by this difference in texture, it is not initially visible; touching her, however, would let one feel the difference immediately. She doesn't take kindly to being poked in the face, however.
She is around 3 feet tall at the shoulder, but her long neck is around 5 feet (at the eyes) at rest, or up to 6 feet (at the eyes) stretched out. She could make herself look much taller by standing on her hind legs and using her tail as support, but only for a little bit. Despite her height, she's very frail due to her birdlike frame, and lacks teeth to fight with.
Lives in a cozy swamp cottage for one. Has only a few rooms, and all of the interior walls are lined with frames and shelves of pinned insects, dried taxidermies of larger arthropods, and even some wet specimens. The dining table has one cushion that serves as a chair, though it is still in great condition from unuse. Mud is tracked a few feet into the doorway, and the welcome mat is soaked; any attempts to stop the mud's entry had ceased long ago. The home has few, small windows with wooden supports and retractable outdoor covers in the case of heavy storms.
